At City eWaste, 'our purpose is repurpose'. That means we resell, refurbish, and recycle used technology, keeping it out of landfills, and extending its use for secondary markets. We’re a green company that also documents, films, and promotes the process to inspire others to do the same and join the cause by franchising our brand within a new market.

Franklin, TN is our test model and I need help. The business is growing, and we need creative, young, and entrepreneurial-minded people to grow with it. Over the next five years, we’re going to see a boom in the circular economy and the tech industries that serve them. City eWaste is poised and positioned to become a micro-model for other communities to build upon and make a difference in fighting waste and pollution.

We’re looking to fill the Materials Manager position right now (job description below).

Experience tells me the person who would enjoy working with our team has something interesting to say, loves technology, isn’t scared to explore, and enjoys switching gears and wearing different hats within the company. Yet, someone who doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves when the everyday, mundane tasks of running a business need addressing. Sound like you or someone you know?

Materials Manager: You’ll primarily lead the scrap & intake portion of the business, but be open to helping list items online and test electronics for functionality. You’ll spend most of your time breaking down computers and picking up materials from business clients in the Middle Tennessee area. You’ll also help build systems to make life easier for the team and attend networking & community events with other team members, when applicable.

Your main directives are as follows:

• Managing logistics to pickup and receive materials from clients

• Helping to determine what’s worth reselling and what needs to be recycled

• Managing the intake process and organization of materials

• Managing the resell process for TVs, video game consoles & audio video equipment

• Document and share the process within our project management software

But what is the pay???? Get to the good stuff!

The pay is up to you. We can always decline and no hard feelings. We have a budget in mind, but pay will be determined by what you bring to the table, the value of your mind, and the time you’re willing to put in towards making this a great place to work and invest in. Profit Share is always on the table for those thinking long term. The fine print is that:

• You’ll need to be 21 or older

• Able to easily lift 40 lbs

• You’ll need a driver's license with a clean driving record for insurance purposes

• There will be two weeks of paid training

• 10 weeks of increased trial run pay

• Profit share & sales bonus opportunities

• Paid time off for those that make it through 60 day trial

We’ll know before 60 days if it’s a relationship worth building. Oh, since public transportation is a joke here, you’ll need to reliably get to and from Franklin, TN on days required to be here which is Monday-Friday during the 60 day trial.
