How It Works

Server and IT Asset Disposal for businesses

Step 1

Protect your sensitive business data

The best way to protect your business data is to remove management software, passwords, and erase any sensitive information before recycling. If the server is no longer operational, don’t worry, data will still be destroyed during the recycling process. Hard drive removal is also available for a small fee.

Step 2

Schedule pickup

Book a pickup via our website to recycle your server equipment. Businesses may qualify for free pickups depending on volume.

Step 3

Dismantling, data destruction, and recycling

Your servers are carefully dismantled by our team. Data is securely destroyed, and valuable metals and components are recovered.

FAQ

More Information About

Server Recycling

What server equipment do you accept?

We accept all business server equipment, including
servers, racks, towers, blades, storage devices, and supporting equipment such as power supplies, switches, routers, and cords.

How do I protect my sensitive business data?

The best way to protect your business data is
to remove management software, passwords, and erase any sensitive information on your servers before recycling. If the server is no longer operational, don’t worry, data will still be destroyed during the recycling process. Hard drive removal is also available for a small fee.

Do you provide a Certificate of Destruction?

Yes, certificates of destruction are available upon request for compliance and reporting.

Is server recycling really free?

Yes, City eWaste provides free recycling for business server equipment. Business pick-up fees can also be waived for qualifying volumes.

What happens to the server equipment?

After secure data destruction, servers are sorted by
our in-house team. Circuit boards, chips, heatsinks, metals, and other components that can be repurposed or recycled are separated. Materials are processed through certified recycling streams to prevent them from entering landfills.

Can businesses of any size recycle servers?

Yes, both small and large businesses can recycle servers. Free pickups may apply depending on volume.

We welcome anyone wanting to do the right thing and ditch those unwanted devices—households, businesses, schools, hospitals, estate sales, junk removal services, private organizations…you name it. If you’ve got old tech, we’ll make sure it finds a greener future.

At the end of the day, we’re here to keep e waste out of landfills and give a high-five to Mother Nature. Ready to join the cause? Come see us, and let’s put that outdated gear where it belongs—back into the recycling loop instead of gathering dust in your office or garage. Because taking care of our planet is always in style (unlike certain haircuts we won’t mention).

A good rule of thumb: if it has a cord or a battery, then we take it. Most items are free to recycle, but there are fees for items containing good amounts of glass or plastic. Download our 2025 price sheet.
